It’s happening here in the city too, from terraced houses to apartments.

Farmhouse Bathroom Ideas

Shiplap

Shiplap is a fresh way to uplift the walls of any bathroom, it lends perfectly to the farmhouse look. Although, too much shiplap throughout a house can be seen as being dated, especially as trends finish through their cycle. Shiplap can be used on both the walls and ceilings, usually a mix of horizontal and vertical placements. But don’t overdo it. Shiplap is seen a LOT in farmhouse bathrooms, but it is not imperative to still help achieve the look.

Natural Sink Dressers

It’s all about the old, upcycled and natural for the bathroom when it comes to what you set your sink on. Generally speaking, natural sink dressers are great where the sink is set on top of the counter rather than being inset. Facebook marketplace is great for picking up old cabinet style dressers that can be upcycled in a cost effective way. Ones with drawers and openings like the below are great for displaying towels, and toilet rolls in a rustic way.

You don’t want to exhaust your farmhouse bathroom with shiplap, there are alternatives! We’re not talking about plain ceilings. Ceilings with visual interest really help to draw your attention. This wooden ceiling is a perfect example of a farmhouse bathroom. It’s using a natural material for the ceiling, whilst the dark wood contrasts so perfectly with the white shiplap and fittings in the room. There is no better farmhouse bathroom example than this beauty!

Mosaic Tiling

Gorgeous tiling is a must have in a farmhouse bathroom. Don’t shy away from pattern, the idea is for it to contrast beautifully with the neutral walls and natural elements in the room. Monochrome is a common choice, it looks fab against greenery in the room too.
