bedroom trends 2025 6 1

Your bedroom is the first thing you see in the morning, and the last thing at night, so it’s worth making it a beautiful, and comfortable one.

If a bedroom makeover is on the cards for 2025, you’re going to want to know all of the latest trends to ensure you make it a scheme that isn’t a dated one.

So, I’ve enlisted the experts and put together a round up on 9 trending design ideas for the bedroom that has everything covered from the best paint colors to use for optimum relaxation, to the best ways to combine texture for a cozy, layered feel.

Top 9 Bedroom Trends For 2025

2025 is all about being braver with using color, throughout an interior. After years of grey washing and the rise in ‘beige’ interiors, this is so refreshing to see, and it will lead to homeowners becoming much more confident with using color too.

Bolder, richer colors are set to take center stage, with an all encompassing approach to decorating that firmly includes the ‘fifth wall’, otherwise known as the ceiling.

Above all, the bedroom trends for 2025 all work to support a cozy, layered, tactile scheme that keeps us firmly grounded and in touch with nature.

1.Earthy Inspired Design Trend

We have this inherent need to feel connected to nature, and this is being fuelled by the earthy inspired interior design trend.

It allows us to reach for more richer, pigmented colors than a conventional ‘neutral scheme’, and the colors and textures are designed to make us feel good, and sit comfortably within them.

In my opinion, it’s one of the easiest design trends to replicate too. Use greens, browns, creams and whites in your color scheme, and pay close attention to texture. Introduce natural elements and a range of textures across textiles for a tactile feel.

Claire Garner, Director at Claire Garner Interiors shares her expert tip on creating a modern rustic scheme. Organic spaces come to life with the thoughtful inclusion of natural elements and textures. “Incorporating organic-shaped furniture, like curved side tables and rounded sofas, softens the room’s edges, making the space feel more inviting and relaxed,” says Claire. “These forms, inspired by nature, establish a sense of harmony and calm throughout the room.”

Natural textiles, such as rattan, linen, and jute, further elevate the room’s authenticity and rustic charm. Claire also encourages incorporating elements of nature. “I love using plants in the home. Adding fresh greenery and olive trees in the living room connects the space to the outdoors, creating a calming atmosphere,” Claire shares.

My top tip: swapping out your existing cushions and bed throws is the easiest way to get onboard with this design trend. Look for earthy colors such as reds, greens, browns and creams and try to incorporate some texture. Boucle and velvet are wonderful fabrics which bring a touch of luxury with them.

2. Colour Vs Double Drenching

The ceiling is no longer an after thought in a design scheme, it forms an integral part of the color scheme and flys the flag for ‘banishing the white’.

Color drenching continues to be a popular way to decorate, this involves saturating the room in one color. Towards the end of 2024, Little Greene coined the term ‘double drenching‘, a new and equally as dramatic way to decorate. This involves transforming a space by painting all elements in two or more related colours. It could be said that this brings greater depth of interest to a room rather than having the one saturated color throughout.

Ruth Mottershead, Creative Director at The Little Greene Paint Company added, “Since first introducing the ‘Colour Drenching’ approach back in 2021, we have seen customers move away from traditional schemes to embrace deep and mid-tone hues from floor to ceiling and everything in between, creating really engaging, inviting spaces. ‘Double Drenching’ is an expansion of this colour confidence, taking the concept into a highly creative, sophisticated and nuanced approach to decoration.”

These decorating methods will cocoon a bedroom, creating a cozy, inviting space, no matter whether the space is small or large. Get inspired with this color drenched cheery yellow shade below which is Benjamin Moore Sun Valley 350.

My top tip: When color drenching, opt for a paint which can be used on multi surfaces, this gives you the true color drenched look, and it saves money! I’m a huge fan of the Farrow and Ball Dead Flat range, check out the result in our downstairs toilet makeover!

3. Warm Wooden Tones

Warm toned wooden flooring further feeds into that need for warmer, earthy and richer design schemes. Your flooring takes up a huge expanse of a room, and it sets the tone for what else you add into the room. Warmer toned wooden flooring is not only timeless, but it instantly uplifts a bedroom.

Warm-toned woods provide a versatility that works well in both modern and traditional settings. These tones complement the natural elements popular in today’s interiors such as stone, linen and soft organic textiles, while adding a rich foundation that can tie a space together.

With over 30 years in the flooring industry, we caught up with Ian Tomlinson, Managing Director of Chaunceys Timber Flooring who confirmed that we’re seeing a return to warm toned wood flooring.

“While lighter-toned, whitewashed oak remains a staple, we’re seeing a resurgence of mid-tone browns and rich, earthy shades,” says Ian. “Homeowners are looking to create interiors that feel cosy, grounded and connected to nature. Warm-toned woods help to create this atmosphere and their timeless appeal reflects a return to classic, enduring design.”

Top tip: If a floor refit isn’t on the cards, think about introducing a large area rug to your bedroom. It’s a great way to break up the monotony of either dark carpeting, or warming up lighter toned flooring. It brings a lovely tactile feel to the bedroom too.

4. Richer, Warmer Pigmented Colors

Pantone, Benjamin Moore and Dulux have all announced their colors of the year, and they all share the same qualities. Richer, warmer and highly pigmented shades that have the ability to completely elevate a room, creating a cozy, enveloping feel in a bedroom.

The 2025 Pantone color of the year is Mocha Mousse, “a warming, brown hue imbued with richness. It nurtures us with its suggestion of the delectable qualities of chocolate and coffee, answering our desire for comfort”.

Recreate the look with a similar shade in the bedroom below. An earthy dark brown with red in its undertones, Brown 02 by Lick oozes warmth.

Browns continue to reign supreme in our color schemes, but purple browns like Cinnamon Slate by Benjamin Moore, buttery yellows, reds and deep olive greens are all on-trend shades for 2025 to help create grounded, comforting spaces.

Top tip: Not feeling brave enough to use a bolder shade just yet? Start by painting a piece of pre-existing furniture in your room, such as a bedside table. It will transform a room, and you can keep costs down by purchasing a few sample pots of your chosen color!

5. Quiet Luxury

Classed as ‘new-age minimalism’, this design trend got thrust into the spotlight in 2024, further fuelled by social media. It is characterised by muted color palettes, investment pieces for a high quality feel and a tranquil space. It’s a step forward for traditional, neutral inspired interiors, and it remains a top interior trend as we approach 2025.

Amthal Karim, Head of Design at Furniture And Choice said, “Quiet luxury is a popular trend that started in the fashion world but has quickly gained a big following in the home space too. The concept has evolved from a micro-trend into a complete design ethos in itself. As homeowners gravitate towards all things classic and a desire for better quality products, Quiet Luxury has become an aspirational look in interior design”.

“To achieve this discreet yet luxurious vibe in your home, muted colours, bespoke furniture, and timeless décor are key features to have. Instead of projecting luxury in a loud or bold way, focus on subtle, refined materials. It’s about investing in good craftsmanship and high quality pieces that appear understated. It’s also about detail – the type of detail you only notice when you get up close like exquisite velvet piping on a sofa or the opulent stone finish on a tabletop”.

Explore using soft, muted colors in your scheme to ground your bedroom scheme such as taupes, sandy beiges and creams.

Top tip: Declutter! We all haver a habit of collecting things over the years, but stripping back your bedroom will not only look better, but the process will make you feel better too. This design trend pivots on creating a tranquil space, so this will give your room the breathing space it needs for a more thorough refresh.

6. Textured Walls and Ceilings

Our interior schemes are demanding more from us. I’ve been seeing a huge uptick in textured wall, and ceiling coverings for achieving far greater interest. Paint alone doesn’t create that tactile feel in a bedroom, and from textured bed frame walls to wallpapered ceilings, it’s one that engages all of the senses.

Wallsauce predicts that in 2025, the interior trends will focus on our hunt for human connection within a technology-driven world and deliver an organic style with a futuristic look.

“In a bid to reconnect, sensorial design will be at the forefront. A sensory experience sets us grounded. So, we can expect to implement various fabrics, such as wool and linen, within our interiors to create a tactile environment”.

“Textured walls and ceilings will also be seen in homes. A cost-effective way of fulfilling this trend is to introduce faux texture murals. Brick, stone, marble, and concrete effects are becoming popular at Wallsauce”.

Take inspiration from the below bedroom which uses Sweet Meadow William and Morris wallpaper, a clever trick on a sloped attic ceiling for a tactile effect that makes the room feel cocooning, rather than drawing more attention to the sloped ceiling.

Top tip: Grab a handful of textured wallpaper samples before committing. Ideally, cut them into an A4 sized piece so they can easily be moved around the space. Attach to the wall with masking tape so you can get a better idea of how it looks during the light at different times of the day.

7. Richly Detailed Wallpaper

Get onboard with the signature wallpaper look this year by digging into richly detailed wallpaper for the bedroom. The bedroom is one room you can easily get onboard with this design trend. It’s the new ‘accent wall’ and looks fab on a wall behind your bed. Or, perhaps you can tick two boxes at once by wallpapering the ‘fifth wall’?

Houzz, the home renovation and design platform shared why this made it into their top 10 home design trend predictions for 2025.

“Delicately patterned wallpapers with a nod to the past are likely to become more prominent in 2025. We’re seeing that intricately detailed maps, botanical prints and chinoiserie patterns are cropping up in wallpapers on Houzz. A nostalgic celebration of pattern could also be seen at Decorex this year, with designers showcasing textiles and wallcoverings with naturalistic illustrations, many with a nod to Victorian designs”.

As shown in the bedroom below, be inspired by pairing a detailed wallpaper design with classic stripes. In my opinion, you can’t go wrong with a combination like this, the perfect treat for the senses!

Top tip: If you choose to wallpaper one wall, pick one of the colors within it to feature on your other walls, it will pull the room scheme together and will make it feel intentional in the space. But, don’t be afraid to feature other, juxtaposing patterns in the room for high visual interest.

8. Soft Curves

Angular lines are out, and soft curves continue to please a bedroom. Softly curved bed frames to round pouffes all help to add a beautiful softness to an overall bedroom scheme, and it’s such an easy design element to incorporate into your current setup.

ScS Interior Stylist Victoria Foster, shared with us that this year’s trends emphasise individuality, sustainability, and comfort while keeping style at the forefront.

On the topic of soft curves, she added, “Soft, rounded furniture like curved sofas will bring a welcoming, organic aesthetic to living spaces. Perfect for open-plan layouts, these shapes enhance the sense of flow. Reflecting the growing popularity of this trend, searches for curved sofas have risen by 20% over the past six months”.

When designing an interior, I always recommend having a juxtaposition against more angular lines and soft curves, it creates a perfect balance.

Top tip: A really great, and easy tip to achieve this is by introducing a striped pattern, such as on a cushion cover. It adds that angularity into the design, but it’s so subtle that it doesn’t look out of place.

9. Nook Bedside Tables

If you’re at the design stages of a renovation, it’s always worth considering how you are configuring your bedroom layout, and nook bedside tables are an up and coming design trend that I’m seeing much more of in the design world.

Having just recently renovated our entire house, it’s actually something I chose to adopt in our master bedroom. This type of bedside table is great if you’re taking a small amount of space from another room or you have a pre-existing alcove space and are trying to maximise current space in your bedroom.

Nook bedside table shelving adds a cocooning, cozy element to a bedroom. Elevate with perfectly styled decor items and a lamp for a warming glow in the nook. Albeit, this isn’t a design that everyone can just incorporate into a bedroom, but it’s something that is perfect for smaller bedrooms and eradicates the need for a ‘traditional’ bedside table.

Top tip: consider doing this at the early stages of a renovation. If I hadn’t planned this nook bedside table, it would have just been boarded up and we wouldn’t have even had any room for a bedside table. Take your time at the planning stage and don’t worry if you change your mind during this time, it’s normal!
